SUNS Newsletter October 2020
Important Club News!!!
Dear Members,
I would like to bring to your attention to initiatives that need to be taken to secure the future of the Suns TT Club.
After a service of roughly 28 years and age creeping up, I have decided that it is time to handover my self-inflicted responsibilities of running Suns, to a new and informed Committee. Therefore, I will resign as President at our next AGM to be held at the Thornleigh Brickpit on Wednesday 17 February 2021 after play.
This means we need to look for reliable and committed members who with a combined effort will take over the operation of Suns.
All positions are open for nominations to be sent with the timely invitation to attend the AGM to all members listed this year.
I have prepared a simple Operations Manual for 3 Session Managers for the 2 mornings and the 1 Friday competition evening we play at the Brickpit each week during the year.
Also available is a functional Jobs list to assist those seeking to nominate for the committee functions of President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer and members for Publicity and IT.
I ask all members to consider the future, as from experience I‘ve found clubs collapsing after enthusiastic founders had to leave for whatever reason. I hope that won’t happen to Suns.
Our club has been and still is very successful both as an affordable social and health service to our Seniors community as well as providing access to the competitive sport of Table Tennis to the population in general. Our financial position is very strong with assets the envy of most other clubs in Sydney.
I hereby ask all our members to help finding a solution to this dilemma. If you like your table tennis and have the time available to assist in the running of our club or know someone capable and willing, please let me know or get him or her to contact me.
Thank you,
Theo Morsink, President.
